Role purpose
Manage, supervise, and ensure successful execution of civil works in 380 kV HV/MV substation projects.
Deliver work in line with SEC standards, contract requirements, and safety and quality guidelines.
Civil project delivery
- Supervise substation civil works, including foundations, control buildings, cable trenches, equipment foundations, roads, and fencing.
- Ensure works follow SEC standards, drawings, and specifications; review civil designs, drawings, and shop drawings and coordinate approvals.
- Coordinate with SEC representatives, consultants, contractors, and suppliers; plan and schedule activities against project milestones.
- Monitor material and workmanship quality, conduct inspections, and meet project QA/QC and HSE requirements.
- Maintain progress reports, inspection requests, and material approvals; assist with technical issues, variations, and claims.
- Support project progress meetings and provide updates on civil work status and challenges.
- Complete and hand over civil works to enable electrical installation and overall substation commissioning.
Key competencies
- Knowledge of substation civil construction practices.
- Quality and safety management; stakeholder management with SEC, consultants, and contractors.
- Planning, scheduling, and execution skills; ability to work in a multicultural and challenging environment.
Preferred candidate profile
- Experience in EPC substation projects within Saudi Arabia is preferred.
- Exposure to SEC, National Grid SA, or major utility projects is preferred.
- A strong track record delivering substation civil works safely, within budget, and on schedule is preferred.
- Immediate availability with SEC approval or a transferable iqama is an added advantage.
