Product Owner

Role overview

Backlog and Agile delivery

• Own and prioritize the product backlog; write epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria aligned with sprint goals.
• Lead backlog grooming and sprint planning, participate in team ceremonies, and ensure stories meet readiness and completion criteria.
• Gather and validate requirements, perform gap analysis, and refine use cases, workflows, and functional documentation.
• Coordinate with development, UX/UI, QA, and other Product Owners during delivery and feature planning.
• Engage stakeholders, communicate priorities and progress, and help ensure delivered features meet customer needs.
• Apply healthcare claims, billing, and reimbursement knowledge and support regulatory compliance with internal teams.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of product management experience; healthcare technology or claims administration experience is preferred.
• At least 2 years of AI-tool experience for product development, requirements engineering, or business analysis is preferred.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum; proficiency with Jira or similar Agile tools.
• Demonstrated use of AI in product management, including reusable prompts and workflows and validation of generated artifacts.
• Basic understanding of software development processes and technical constraints.
• Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Confluence, Miro, or Figma.
• Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred qualifications

• CSPO or similar Agile certification.
• Knowledge of HL7, FHIR, or X12 EDI healthcare data standards.
• Experience with utilization management, prior authorization, care management, clinical review, payer workflows, or medical necessity determination.
• Familiarity with InterQual, MCG, or payer-specific clinical guidelines and healthcare regulatory requirements.
• Experience collaborating with UM nurses, Medical Directors, physician reviewers, and clinical operations teams.
