Procurement Officer - Building Materials

About This Role

Job Overview:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to support our procurement operations in the building materials trading sector. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in sourcing materials, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of materials required for sales and project needs. A good understanding of the UAE building materials market is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Purchase Order Management:
• Prepare and process purchase orders based on material requirements, stock levels, and sales team requests.
• Vendor Coordination:

Communicate with local and international suppliers for quotations, order confirmation, follow-ups, and delivery coordination.

• Price Negotiation:

Assist in price negotiations to ensure cost-effective procurement without compromising quality.Maintain accurate records of purchases, quotations, delivery notes, and invoices. Ensure proper filing of supplier documents and contracts.Monitor market trends and price fluctuations in building materials like timber, plywood, gypsum, MDF, and hardware to support strategic sourcing.Coordinate with warehouse/store teams to manage stock levels and assist in timely reordering of fast-moving items.Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies and UAE import/export regulations.Generate purchase reports, cost comparisons, and vendor performance summaries for management review.Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in building materials or trading companies within the UAE.
• Good knowledge of common building materials and their suppliers in the UAE market.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and ERP/procurement software.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• UAE driving license (preferred but not mandatory).
