The People and Development Manager shapes how hotel colleagues learn, grow and experience the brand.
The role partners with People and Culture, hotel leaders and operational teams.
Learning and Development
- Own the hotel learning and development plan, connecting people priorities with business needs.
- Create and facilitate engaging service, behavioral and leadership learning.
- Identify development needs with leaders and create practical solutions.
- Keep mandatory learning, training records and development activity on track.
Talent and Operations
- Partner with leaders to identify talent and create development and internal growth opportunities.
- Support leadership development, coaching, performance and succession planning.
- Help managers develop teams, give feedback and recognize potential.
- Stay present in the hotel and partner with operational teams to strengthen service, skills and guest experience.
What You Bring
- Experience in people development, learning and development, or talent development; luxury or lifestyle hospitality experience is preferred.
- Experience creating and delivering onboarding, learning and development programmes.
- Confident and engaging facilitation style; able to connect with people at every level.
- Good understanding of hotel operations and a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Creative, curious and organized, with a collaborative, people-first mindset.
Success Measures
Success includes consistent onboarding, delivery of the annual learning calendar, and timely completion of mandatory learning.
Managers and emerging leaders participate in development, coaching and targeted learning.
Talent and succession plans support internal mobility, and department trainers deliver consistent team learning.
Learning impact and business relevance are assessed using feedback, operational observations and relevant people and guest experience indicators.
