Lead Software Developer - Java with AWS Cloud

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Own team technology solutions and delivery outcomes; guide technical decisions and remove project obstacles.
• Align with architects and the CTO organization on governance and best practices.
• Deliver high-quality solutions; strengthen designs, architectures, and frameworks.
• Oversee quality across data models, API contracts, architecture, frameworks, and code.
• Assist with estimates, planning, priorities, and dependency discovery; lead cross-team collaboration.
• Apply hands-on expertise in AWS cloud-native microservices architecture.

Requirements

• 8+ years designing and developing front-end applications, microservices, and REST APIs.
• Strong Java, Node.js, and Spring Boot background, including APIs and microservices.
• Extensive AWS experience, including ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and CloudWatch; knowledge of DynamoDB and Aurora.
• Experience with Agile methodology and API testing tools; understanding of monitoring tools such as Splunk.
• Client-facing communication and presentation skills, attention to detail, and ability to work through ambiguity while maintaining structure.
• Leadership experience across teams and ability to clarify technical uncertainty and deliver clear solutions.

Preferred skills and technologies

• Technologies include Java, Node.js, Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, AWS, DynamoDB, Aurora, Splunk, and API testing tools.
• Python programming, cloud-native data pipelines, and building solutions aligned with business needs and API economy are nice to have.
