Lead Software Developer - Java with AWS Cloud

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Own technology solutions and team deliverables; guide technical decisions and remove obstacles throughout the project lifecycle.
• Partner with architects and the CTO organization on governance and best practices.
• Build high-quality solutions meeting functional and non-functional requirements; improve designs, architectures, and frameworks.
• Ensure quality across data models, API contracts, architecture, frameworks, and code.
• Support estimation, planning, prioritization, and dependency management; lead collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
• Apply hands-on expertise in AWS cloud-native microservices architecture.

Requirements

• 8+ years designing and developing front-end applications, microservices, and REST APIs in production environments.
• Hands-on expertise in Java, Node.js, and Spring Boot, focused on APIs and microservices.
• Expertise with AWS services including ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and CloudWatch; understanding of DynamoDB and Aurora databases.
• Experience with Agile methodology and API testing tools; working familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk.
• Client-facing communication and presentation skills; attention to detail and ability to work through ambiguity while maintaining structure.
• Leadership experience collaborating across teams and ability to clarify technical uncertainty and deliver clear solutions.

Preferred skills and technologies

• Core technologies include Java, Node.js, Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, AWS, DynamoDB, Aurora, and API testing tools.
• Python programming, cloud-native data pipelines, and aligning solutions with business needs and API economy are nice to have.
