Lead / Senior Software Engineer - Zuora

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers to gather requirements, develop solutions, and estimate effort; collaborate with Business Operations, Finance, and Business Analysts to interpret needs.
• Create and improve business-aligned workflows; lead a small team, oversee deliverables, and communicate with stakeholders.
• Develop, test, and deploy systems independently; diagnose and resolve production issues and configuration problems involving Zuora integrations and data flows.
• Improve system performance and assist DevOps with automating Zuora deployments and smooth production changes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including implementation documents, design specifications, test plans, and user guides.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and train and assist end users and stakeholders on Zuora features and best practices.
• Attend stakeholder meetings to discuss project status, challenges, and resolutions.

Experience

• Requires 5–15 years of IT experience and proven success implementing, maintaining, and enhancing billing platforms.

Zuora platform and billing

• Solid grasp of Zuora Admin, Zuora objects, and APIs.
• Strong experience building and modifying Zuora invoice templates covering Payments, bill runs, billing document posting, Invoice, CM, and HTML templates.
• Working knowledge of Product Catalog, Charge Models, and the subscription lifecycle, including creation, updates, renewals, and cancellations.
• Hands-on experience with Zuora Order line items, including generating Order line-items and Invoice order line items.

Technical requirements

• Can perform reconciliations, troubleshoot month-end processes, and handle bulk create, update, and delete tasks across multiple objects.
• Comfortable using developer tools and Postman.
• Integration experience with ecommerce platforms, payment gateways, data analytics tools, and tax systems, such as Salesforce and Zuora APIs.
• Knowledge of Zuora Workflow, Admin features, roles, permissions, and billing template configuration.
• Awareness of Zuora product updates, industry trends, and best practices.
