Lead / Senior Software Engineer - Zuora

Role overview

Delivery and collaboration

• Gather customer requirements, architect solutions, and estimate effort.
• Capture business needs with Business Operations, Finance, and Business Analysts; build workflows aligned with business objectives.
• Lead a small team, oversee deliverables, and communicate with stakeholders.
• Develop, test, and deploy systems independently; diagnose production and configuration issues involving integrations and data flows.
• Improve performance and support DevOps with deployment automation and production releases.

Documentation and enablement

• Create and update implementation documentation, design specifications, test plans, and user guides.
• Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and train end users and stakeholders on Zuora features and practices.
• Review project status with stakeholders, address issues, and propose solutions.
• Respond to ongoing questions and analysis requests from business, finance, development, QA, and other teams.

Required experience

• 5–15 years of IT experience, demonstrating success deploying, sustaining, and enhancing billing platforms.
• Strong grasp of Zuora, including Admin, platform objects, and APIs.
• Experience building and modifying invoice templates for payments, bill runs, billing document posting, invoices, CM, and HTML.
• Working knowledge of Product Catalog, Charge Models, and subscription creation, updates, renewals, and cancellations.
• Hands-on experience with Zuora Order line items and invoice order line items.
• Able to handle reconciliations and month-end close troubleshooting, and perform bulk create, update, and delete actions.
• Skilled in developer tools and Postman.

Integrations and platform administration

• Experience integrating Zuora with ecommerce platforms, payment gateways, analytics tools, and tax systems, including Salesforce and payment gateways.
• Comfortable building and improving automations with Zuora Workflow.
• Strong understanding of Zuora roles, permissions, and billing template configuration.
• Stay current with Zuora releases, industry trends, and best practices.
