Lead / Senior Software Engineer - Zuora

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Gather customer requirements, develop solutions, and estimate effort; collaborate with Business Operations, Finance, and Business Analysts to clarify needs.
• Create and improve workflows aligned with business objectives; lead a small team and oversee deliverables.
• Independently handle system development, testing, and deployment with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose production issues and configuration problems in Zuora integrations and data flows, and improve system performance.
• Support automation of Zuora deployments and smooth production changes with DevOps.
• Document implementations, designs, test plans, and user guides; review code and mentor junior developers.
• Train and assist end users and stakeholders on Zuora features and recommended practices.
• Join stakeholder meetings to review project status, challenges, and resolutions.

Requirements

• 5–15 years of IT experience, including implementing, sustaining, and enhancing billing platforms.
• Strong knowledge of the Zuora platform, Zuora Admin, objects, and APIs.
• Deep expertise in Zuora invoice templates, including Payments, bill runs, billing document posting, invoices, credit memos, and HTML templates.
• Knowledge of Product Catalog, Charge Models, and subscription lifecycle creation, updates, renewals, and cancellations.
• Hands-on experience with Zuora Order line-item functionality and Invoice order line items.
• Reconciliation and troubleshooting for month-end close, plus bulk create, update, and delete actions across objects.
• Skilled use of developer tools and Postman.
• Integration experience with ecommerce, payment gateways, analytics, and tax systems, including Salesforce, Zuora APIs, and payment gateways.
• Comfortable building and refining automated processes using Zuora Workflow.
• Strong understanding of Admin configuration, including roles, permissions, and billing templates.
• Able to address daily questions and analysis requests from business, finance, development, QA, and other teams; aware of product updates, trends, and best practices.
