Follow up and supervise bus routes and drivers to support compliance with operational standards, including safety and security.
Roles and accountabilities
- Monitor bus routes and ensure trips operate according to schedule.
- Answer driver calls and inquiries, advise on procedures, and support reporting of incidents such as accidents.
- Direct drivers to follow routes as instructed when metro breakdowns require bus-management support.
- Advise drivers on corrective action for late arrivals using the AVM communication protocol.
- Prepare operational reports and proposals on performance indicators and service improvements, coordinating with Planning and Business Development.
- Report route obstacles to supervisors and seek guidance on addressing them.
- Record corrective actions in the AVM system.
- Address system, equipment, or bus malfunctions, take immediate measures to maintain operations, and inform supervisors when necessary.
- Support shift supervisors in measuring corrective-action impacts at shelter and bus stations against key performance indicators.
- Submit daily operations reports on time, including canceled or added trips and delayed-trip percentages, to inform management action.
- Follow RTA information security and data-protection policies.
- Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the line manager or department head.
Education and experience
- High school education.
- Two years of relevant work experience.
Skills
- Good computer skills.
- Good listening and communication, with the ability to convey information orally and in writing.
- Fluent English in reading, writing, and speaking; fluent Arabic is preferred.
