Senior principal engineer role in the Roads and Transport Authority’s Urban Planning Affairs department.
The role supports urban-planning governance, strategy, projects, committee operations, and continuous improvement.
Strategy and governance
- Support urban-planning governance implementation and review periodic reports for submission to relevant authorities.
- Review project budgets, priorities, and evaluations and report on financial performance.
- Oversee strategic and transformational urban-planning projects, tracking plans and budgets and escalating challenges.
- Evaluate project outputs and provide progress reports and recommendations.
- Oversee urban-planning indicators and progress against Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040 targets.
- Provide advice and guidance on urban-planning policies, strategies, trends, and related topics.
Committee and operations
- Coordinate Supreme Committee for Urban Planning meetings and prepare agendas, documents, summaries, speeches, and presentations.
- Provide technical advice on committee topics and prepare reports.
- Review investor applications submitted to the committee and recommend decisions.
- Prepare best-practice studies and benchmarks and propose initiatives for continuous development.
- Develop stakeholder communication plans and ensure Director-General meeting materials are accurate and ready.
- Govern digital publications on urban-planning work and report on compliance and accuracy.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Engineering.
- 11 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 9 years with a master’s degree.
- Certifications such as PGMP or PMP are listed.
