Role overview
The Finance Supervisor oversees the hotel’s day-to-day financial operations and supports the Financial Controller.
The role ensures accurate reporting, accounting-standard compliance, and effective financial transaction management.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing; ensure transactions are accurately recorded under hotel policies and accounting standards.
- Manage cash flow, invoice and payment processing, cash handling, and timely, accurate deposits.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
- Assist with budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis; identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and operational efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, accounting regulations, and hotel financial policies; conduct reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Support internal and external audits with documentation and reports.
- Supervise and train junior finance staff, provide procedural guidance, and resolve accounting issues.
- Assist the Financial Controller with special projects, analysis, and system improvements; contribute to financial policies and procedures.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPA or ACCA are a plus.
- 3–5 years of finance or accounting experience; hospitality industry experience is preferred.
- Strong experience with accounting software such as Opera or SunSystems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of local tax laws and compliance regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting; analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and communicate and collaborate effectively across departments.
