An experienced Bakery Chef is sought for the production team of a high-end restaurant and coffee shop with an in-house bakery in Benghazi, Libya.

The chef will oversee daily bakery production and maintain consistent product quality, taste, texture, and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a wide range of breads to high quality standards.
- Ensure consistency in recipes, dough preparation, fermentation, proofing, shaping, and baking.
- Manage daily production based on business needs and service requirements.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness.
- Control ingredient use, reduce waste, and support efficient production.
- Maintain bakery product quality, freshness, and consistency.
- Develop products and concepts that reflect trends and guest preferences; introduce ideas to improve the bakery offering.
- Train and guide junior bakery team members.
Bakery expertise
- Required product expertise includes French baguettes, sourdough bread, English muffins, burger buns, brown toast bread, panini with olives, and multiseed bread.
- The role calls for knowledge of artisan breads, sourdough, fermentation, viennoiseries, modern baking techniques, and dough preparation, shaping, proofing, and baking.
Candidate requirements
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent certification in Culinary Arts, Bakery Arts, or Pastry Arts from a recognized institution.
- 4–5 years of hands-on bakery experience in a high-end bakery, hotel, fine-dining restaurant, café, or all-day dining establishment.
- International hospitality experience is an advantage.
- English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality, consistency, and productivity.
- Willingness to relocate to Benghazi, Libya, is mandatory.
