QA/QC Engineer

Position Summary

Location and Work Arrangement

• The position is based in Benghazi, Libya.
• The role is full-time, site-based, and requires in-person work.

Quality Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the project QA/QC plan, procedures, and inspection processes.
• Inspect civil, architectural, MEP, interior fit-out, and building-envelope works.
• Review material submittals, method statements, ITPs, and subcontractor technical documentation.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with quality benchmarks and project specifications.
• Coordinate with site teams and subcontractors to resolve quality issues and prevent rework.
• Prepare NCRs and CARs and follow up until closure.
• Maintain QA/QC logs for inspections, materials, tests, NCRs, and approvals.

Technical Inspection Scope

• Inspect concrete, reinforcement, formwork, blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, flooring, ceilings, joinery, and architectural finishes.
• Oversee MEP installation checks, testing, commissioning, and compliance with authority requirements.
• Verify mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting systems against approved shop drawings and ITPs.
• Inspect façade systems, cladding, glazing, insulation, waterproofing, and building-envelope interfaces.
• Coordinate third-party agencies for material tests, concrete tests, and specialized inspections.

Reporting and Coordination

• Attend coordination meetings with consultants, client representatives, and subcontractors.
• Support the Project Manager in resolving technical issues, design discrepancies, and quality conflicts.
• Prepare QA/QC reports, inspection summaries, and quality dashboards for senior management.
• Ensure proper documentation for testing, commissioning, and final handover.
• Promote quality and continuous improvement across site teams.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, MEP Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience, including strong GCC experience in QA/QC roles for building and infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of civil, architectural, MEP, interior fit-out, and building-envelope works.
• Experience preparing and reviewing ITPs, method statements, material submittals, NCRs, and related documentation.
• Strong understanding of ISO, ASTM, BS, ACI, NFPA, SMACNA, IPC, IEC, and relevant authority regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office, QA/QC reporting tools, and construction documentation workflows.
