Planning Engineer

Role Overview

Location and Work Arrangement

• The role is based at the Dubai office and work is in person.
• Coordination meetings may be online or in person.

Planning and Coordination Duties

• Develops baseline programs in Primavera P6 or MS Project covering design, shop drawings and approvals, material submittals, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, construction, finishes, fit-out, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Creates WBS, activity coding, logic links, and critical path analyses.
• Coordinates planning inputs across architects, structural and MEP consultants, interior designers, specialist subcontractors, and external works and landscape teams.
• Prepares interface schedules for complex mixed-use projects and updates programs weekly or bi-weekly based on actual progress.
• Prepares progress reports, look-ahead schedules, KPI dashboards, delay analysis, and recovery plans; identifies risks, slippages, and mitigation actions.
• Develops and tracks procurement schedules for MEP equipment, façade systems, finishes, joinery, and FF&E; coordinates supplier deliveries with site needs.
• Maintains planning logs, progress records, and approval trackers; supports claims, variations, and EOT submissions with documentation.
• Ensures compliance with project specifications, authority requirements, and client expectations; works with office, project management, and site teams and attends coordination meetings.
• Provides planning insights to support decision-making and project strategy.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 10–12 years of planning experience on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Excellent understanding of procurement cycles, authority approvals, and construction sequencing.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills; able to work independently.
