Essential duties and responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and update menus and recipes to maintain culinary standards and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking activities in the kitchen.
- Ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation of dishes.
- Manage and supervise Sous Chefs, Chef de Partie, Commis Chefs, and kitchen helpers.
- Monitor and control food costs, portion sizes, and kitchen expenses.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards, including HACCP.
- Manage ingredient inventory, purchasing, and supplier relationships.
- Conduct training and development programs for kitchen staff.
- Coordinate with management on catering events, banquets, and special functions.
- Ensure efficient kitchen operations during peak service periods.
Education and experience
- A diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management is preferred.
- 7–10 years of professional kitchen operations experience, including leadership roles.
- Good verbal and written communication skills for working with customers, management, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of various cooking methods and kitchen equipment.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments within given instructions and standard practices.
Physical requirements
- Ability to safely perform essential job functions consistent with productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
Pay
- AED 10,000–12,000 per month.
