Role overview
The Duty Manager leads day-to-day hotel operations as Manager on Duty during assigned shifts.
The role supports efficient operations, guest satisfaction, and a safe environment for guests and colleagues.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee hotel operations during assigned shifts and coordinate departments.
- Resolve guest complaints and feedback; provide personalized service to hotel standards.
- Monitor room availability and overbooking, and support smooth check-in and check-out.
- Support emergency procedures and uphold safety and security protocols.
- Supervise front-line colleagues and provide guidance.
- Review daily reports and handovers, document incidents, and report major issues to senior management.
- Maintain a visible presence in public areas to assist guests and staff.
Education and experience
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- At least 2–3 years of Front Office or Guest Services experience; supervisory or managerial responsibilities are preferred.
- Previous Duty Manager or Team Leader experience in an international hotel is an advantage.
Skills and competencies
- Strong leadership, decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Verbal and written English and the specified local language; additional foreign languages are an asset.
- Knowledge of hotel operations, PMS systems such as Opera, and service standards.
- Conflict-resolution skills; able to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays; customer-focused, proactive, and attentive to detail.
