Director of Construction Planning
About This Role
Job Summary:
NU-CA Construction & Architecture is seeking a highly organized and strategic Director of Construction Planning to lead project planning and scheduling functions in Doha. This senior leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee planning for large-scale construction and architectural projects, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and operational excellence. If you have strong experience in construction planning, scheduling, and project coordination, this role offers high impact, leadership influence, and competitive compensation.
What you'll do:
- Lead construction planning strategy across multiple projects and portfolios
- Develop and manage project schedules, timelines, and resource plans
- Oversee planning teams and coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors
- Ensure alignment of planning with project scope, budget, and delivery goals
- Identify risks, delays, and bottlenecks, and implement mitigation strategies
- Monitor project progress, KPIs, and performance reporting
- Drive improvements in planning processes, tools, and methodologies
- Collaborate with procurement, design, and site teams for project coordination
- Review and approve planning documentation and schedules
- Build and lead high-performing planning and scheduling teams
Requirements:
- Experience in construction planning, project scheduling, or project management
- Strong understanding of construction lifecycle, timelines, and resource planning
- Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects and stakeholders
- Leadership and team management experience
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with planning tools such as Primavera, MS Project, or similar
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field
