Job purpose
Assist in managing daily production and activities in the assigned kitchen section in accordance with departmental standards.
Kitchen production and service
- Attend daily briefings and other meetings as required.
- Prepare and serve section food items according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist with delivery intake and safe storage; maintain food quality, preparation, recipe, and presentation standards.
- Provide direction to Commis Chefs and kitchen stewards.
Stock, cost, and administration
- Monitor kitchen stock, items, and supplies and advise the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef about requisitions.
- Complete and maintain required paperwork, controls, administration, and records.
- Support food-cost control and waste reduction through proper preparation and portion control.
Safety and equipment
- Comply with HACCP requirements and procedures, food-safety handling policies, hygiene, sanitation, and cleaning procedures.
- Report malfunctioning equipment and ensure non-working equipment is removed from operation.
- Carry out additional tasks as instructed by management.
Job specification
- Three to four years of relevant experience in hospitality or the food and beverage field.
- Proven track record in food preparation and kitchen management.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Pleasant, professional manner and ability to work under pressure.
Pay
- AED 5,000–6,000 per month.
