About Slalom

Slalom is a business and technology consulting company delivering strategy, technology, customer experience, and operational transformation services.

Slalom works with enterprise, mid-market, and public sector clients through collaborative Agile teams.

Role Overview

The Data Program Delivery Lead will lead development and implementation of client data products, data ecosystems, and data transformation initiatives.

The role combines strategic program and team leadership with data and analytics depth and a focus on strategic client outcomes.

The role may manage large transformation programs or data-oriented workstreams and will be hands-on in delivery execution using Agile frameworks and tools.

The role bridges technical execution, business strategy, stakeholder management, and team enablement.

Delivery and Solution Ownership

  • Own end-to-end delivery of data products, transformation programs, and data-focused workstreams, including scope, timelines, budgets, staffing, and outcomes.
  • Balance business needs with technical feasibility, scalability, architectural standards, and data-informed prioritization decisions.
  • Translate technical capabilities into business value while managing stakeholder expectations across scope, timelines, and resources.
  • Articulate ROI, cost savings, revenue opportunities, and long-term value for client data initiatives.
  • Drive client account growth through high-quality delivery outcomes and trusted relationships.

Team and Capability Leadership

  • Coach and enable high-performing, self-organizing teams through Agile principles, practices, and mindset.
  • Resolve impediments, support teams through complex situations, and champion effective delivery principles.
  • Leverage AI, automation, and AI-powered collaboration tools to improve delivery productivity, insights, and decision-making.
  • Contribute to the Slalom Data Capability through mentorship, delivery best practices, and community development.

Program Management

  • Maintain project plans, timelines, resource allocation, budgets, dependencies, risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with solution architects to align business vision with technical implementation and co-own solution design across workstreams.
  • Engage executive sponsors, business stakeholders, client technical teams, and delivery teams to advance initiatives.
  • Create executive summaries and presentations covering program vision, roadmap, solution impact, and status.

Agile Delivery Practices

  • Lead Agile teams by facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Facilitate prioritization across programs, projects, epics, features, and user stories and document requirements.
  • Guide estimation and capacity planning using techniques such as story points and planning poker.
  • Validate solutions against requirements, track Agile metrics, and maintain clear backlogs, acceptance criteria, risks, and issues.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in technical project management, product management, technical delivery leadership, data products, analytics platforms, data warehousing, or data transformation initiatives.
  • Understanding of modern data platforms and architecture, including data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT patterns, APIs, and cloud data platforms.
  • Understanding of modern data stack technologies such as Snowflake, dbt, Databricks, DataOps, and data mesh.
  • Project experience demonstrating expertise in Agile delivery.
  • Proficiency with Agile, work management, team planning, or test case management tools.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Comfort leading executive-level communications and project-level workshops.

Compensation

  • Targeted base salary ranges are CAD 108,000-132,000 for Senior Consultant and CAD 130,500-159,500 for Principal in the listed Canadian markets.
  • Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
  • Actual compensation depends on skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors.

Benefits

  • Benefits include time off and paid holidays, parental leave, retirement savings, subsidized health, dental, and vision coverage, and disability coverage.
  • Additional offerings include adoption and fertility assistance, a CAD 350 annual well-being reimbursement account, and discounted insurance options.
