Data Program Delivery Lead - Data Solution Owner (Calgary)

Role

Delivery and client outcomes

• Own scope, timelines, budgets, staffing, and end-to-end delivery of data products, transformation programs, and workstreams.
• Balance business needs with technical feasibility, scalability, and architecture standards; make data-informed prioritization and trade-off decisions.
• Translate technical capabilities into business value and manage expectations across scope, timelines, and resources.
• Articulate ROI, cost savings, revenue opportunities, and long-term solution value; support account growth through trusted relationships and measurable outcomes.
• Coach Agile teams, resolve impediments, and use AI and automation to improve productivity, insights, and decision-making.
• Contribute to data practice mentorship, best practices, and community development.

Program management and Agile delivery

• Maintain project plans, timelines, resource allocation, budgets, dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Partner with solution architects on solution design and integration; engage executive sponsors, business stakeholders, client technical teams, and internal teams.
• Create executive summaries and presentations covering program vision, roadmap, solution impact, and status.
• Lead Agile teams and facilitate sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Facilitate prioritization across programs, projects, epics, features, and user stories; guide estimation and capacity planning.
• Validate solutions against requirements and acceptance criteria; track velocity, burndown, risks, issues, and delivery progress.
• Maintain requirements, process flows, acceptance criteria, backlogs, governance frameworks, and operational playbooks.

Experience and qualifications

• 7+ years in technical project management, product management, technical delivery leadership, data products, analytics platforms, data warehousing, or data transformation.
• Understanding of data lakes, warehouses, ETL/ELT patterns, APIs, AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, dbt, Databricks, DataOps, or data mesh.
• Agile delivery experience and proficiency with relevant Agile, work management, planning, and test case management tools.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including executive communications and workshops for technical and non-technical audiences.
• A background check is required if hired.

Platforms and tools

• Examples of platforms and technologies include AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake, dbt, Databricks, DataOps, and data mesh.
• Examples of delivery tools include Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Miro, Version One, Rally, Monday.com, Asana, Microsoft Planner, and Project.
• Test case management examples include TestRail, Zephyr, and qTest.

Work arrangement

• The role is hybrid, with onsite attendance expected when required by the team leader or client.
