Oversee and customize project cost-control systems to meet project requirements.
Lead cost-performance forecasting and reporting throughout project life cycles.
Cost controls and reporting
- Analyze project performance and update the project database.
- Prepare cumulative executive summary reports on approved cost baselines, budgets, behaviors, and trends across projects.
- Ensure cost-management procedures and reporting requirements are incorporated; prepare and assist with project reports at various levels.
- Contribute to development and implementation of project-control strategies.
Team management
- Manage and mentor Cost Control Engineers and Specialists, transferring technical expertise to less experienced professionals.
- Provide guidance and specialized assistance to resolve complex project-control problems.
- Document performance issues, participate in resolutions, and support personnel development.
- Delegate tasks for short- and long-term work and encourage active team engagement.
Qualifications and experience
- BS or MS in Civil Engineering from a reputable college.
- At least 12 years of experience in project management, project control and estimation, budgeting, and cost control.
- Proficiency in budgeting and forecasting, change management, Work Breakdown Structures, Earned Value Systems, revenue recognition and billing analysis, and contingency allocation.
- Strong knowledge of project cost planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple or changing priorities.
- Knowledge of construction accounting principles and company financial-position documentation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, system-evaluation, and continuous process-improvement skills.
