Cost Control Engineers – Construction

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, project budgets, and cost breakdowns from drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Analyze tender documents, contractual requirements, and specifications for cost implications and financial risks.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities for construction projects.
• Use AutoCAD, PlanSwift, and MS Excel for measurements, cost calculations, and reporting.
• Evaluate financial impacts of variations, change orders, and additional work requests.
• Develop cost-control procedures and track budgets, actual costs, commitments, and forecasts to detect overruns.
• Coordinate with project managers, quantity surveyors, procurement, and finance teams on project financial performance.
• Prepare cost reports, variance analyses, forecasts, and financial performance summaries.
• Monitor subcontractor, material, manpower, and equipment costs against budgets.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend corrective measures.
• Evaluate subcontractor quotations and payment applications; maintain cost records and support project budget compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience for Position 1; minimum 5 years for Position 2.
• Construction experience in cost control, estimation, budgeting, and financial monitoring.
• Knowledge of quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, tender analysis, and construction cost management.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, PlanSwift, and advanced MS Excel.
• Experience producing cost reports, budget forecasts, variance analyses, and financial summaries.
• Understanding of construction contracts, variations, change orders, and subcontractor cost management.
• Strong analytical, numerical, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to coordinate with project teams and manage multiple budgets and deadlines.
• GCC/UAE construction experience is preferred.

Compensation

• The description states pay of AED 3,000–18,000 per month.
• The structured salary field states AED 3,000 per month.
