Consultant Physician – Critical Care (Cardiac ICU & ECMO
A leading government healthcare facility in Al Ain is seeking an accomplished and highly experienced Consultant Physician – Critical Care with specialized expertise in Cardiac ICU and ECMO management.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-acuity environment, managing critically ill patients and contributing to advanced life-support interventions within a world-class healthcare system.

- Advanced expertise in critical care medicine, particularly in Cardiac ICU settings
- Strong hands-on experience in ECMO initiation, management, and weaning
- Proficiency in managing post-cardiac surgery and complex cardiovascular critical cases
- Expertise in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and life-support systems
- Strong decision-making skills in high-pressure and emergency situations
- Excellent leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration abilities
Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for critically ill patients in the Cardiac ICU
- Lead the management of ECMO-supported patients, including assessment and intervention planning
- Manage complex cardiac and multi-organ failure cases requiring intensive care support
- Coordinate with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, perfusionists, and ICU teams for integrated patient care
- Oversee advanced ventilation strategies and invasive monitoring
- Ensure adherence to ICU protocols, quality standards, and patient safety measures
- Participate in rapid response and emergency critical care situations
- Supervise, mentor, and support junior medical staff and ICU teams
- Contribute to clinical audits, research, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialization in Critical Care Medicine
- Fellowship / Board Certification / CCT in Critical Care or Intensive Care Medicine
- Proven consultant-level experience in Cardiac ICU and ECMO management
- Valid DOH License / Eligibility or equivalent UAE licensing advantage
- Extensive experience in tertiary or high-complexity healthcare facilities
