Consultant Physician – Neonatology
On behalf of our **government healthcare client** in **Al Ain, UAE**, we are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced **Consultant Physician – Neonatology** to join a leading neonatal care team dedicated to providing advanced and life-saving care for newborns, especially those requiring intensive and specialized medical attention. This is an exceptional opportunity for a specialist with expertise in **Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU)**, **premature infant management**, and **critical newborn care** to contribute to a world-class healthcare environment.
Key Skills
- Strong expertise in **Neonatology** and **Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU)**
- Advanced experience in managing **premature infants**, **low birth weight babies**, and **critically ill newborns**
- Proficiency in **Neonatal Resuscitation**, **Ventilator Management**, and **Emergency Stabilization**
- Expertise in treating **respiratory distress syndrome**, **neonatal infections**, **congenital disorders**, and **jaundice**
- Strong knowledge of **developmental care**, **nutrition management**, and **family-centered neonatal care**
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure and multidisciplinary clinical settings
Duties And Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage newborns requiring specialized and intensive neonatal care
- Lead and oversee patient care within the **NICU** and delivery room resuscitation when needed
- Manage complex neonatal conditions including **prematurity**, **birth asphyxia**, **respiratory complications**, and **infections**
- Perform **advanced neonatal procedures** and life-support interventions
- Collaborate closely with **Obstetricians, Paediatricians, NICU Nurses, and Respiratory Therapists**
- Monitor patient progress and develop individualized treatment and discharge plans
- Counsel and educate families regarding newborn care, prognosis, and treatment plans
- Participate in **clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and research programs**
- Mentor junior medical staff and contribute to training and educational activities
Qualifications
- **MBBS or equivalent Medical Degree**
- **Specialization in Paediatrics**
- **Fellowship / Board Certification / CCT in Neonatology**
- Proven **Consultant-level experience in Neonatology / NICU**
- **DOH License / Eligibility** or equivalent UAE licensing is an advantage
- Experience in **tertiary care hospitals or advanced neonatal intensive care units**
