Own global sourcing strategies that support manufacturing operations and build a competitive, reliable, cost-effective supply base.
Work with Engineering, Quality, Procurement, business management, and strategic suppliers.
Key responsibilities
- Develop commodity and sourcing strategies and lead a cross-functional commodity circle.
- Analyse supplier markets, material availability, manufacturing costs, and pricing trends; identify sourcing options.
- Lead supplier evaluation and selection, ensuring technical requirements and identifying value engineering opportunities.
- Manage strategic suppliers, conduct site visits and quarterly reviews, and monitor performance KPIs.
- Negotiate and manage framework agreements, pricing agreements, and commercial contracts.
- Assess spend, total cost of ownership, and supply risks; pursue savings and implement risk mitigation.
What you bring
- A relevant engineering, supply chain, business, technical, or commercial degree is preferred; equivalent professional experience is considered.
- At least five years of supplier-facing purchasing, strategic sourcing, commodity management, or technical experience.
- Experience with technical commodities in manufacturing or industry and understanding of relevant processes; machined components are ideal.
- Metal forming knowledge is an advantage.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience coaching or reviewing others’ work is beneficial.
Team context
The procurement team develops sourcing strategies for machined parts and works across Engineering, Quality, and business management.
The Gas Services division provides gas and steam turbines, generators, and digital services focused on reliability, efficiency, and sustainability.
