Civil Engineer (FM)

Role purpose

Civil maintenance and inspections

• Manage planned preventive and reactive civil maintenance works within FM operations.
• Inspect and assess civil complaints, defects, and maintenance requirements.
• Supervise work involving tiling, painting, concrete, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, gypsum and ceiling works, carpentry, interlock, and other building-fabric works.
• Conduct site inspections and prepare snag lists, inspection reports, and maintenance reports.

Coordination and operational control

• Coordinate technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and service providers to complete work on time.
• Monitor work orders and close preventive and corrective maintenance activities appropriately.
• Prepare scopes of work and coordinate quotations and contractor activities.
• Monitor contractor performance, workmanship quality, and compliance with agreed requirements.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, quality, and FM operational requirements; maintain maintenance records and documentation.
• Support SLA/KPI performance, coordinate with clients and FM teams, and assist with urgent civil maintenance when needed.

Candidate requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Mandatory Facilities Management or building-maintenance experience; construction or infrastructure experience without FM maintenance exposure is not sufficient.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of civil maintenance and building-fabric works.
• Experience with PPM, reactive maintenance, work orders, inspections, snagging, and contractor supervision.
• Good reporting, documentation, and MS Office skills; strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred experience and systems

• Familiarity with CAFM/CMMS systems for managing work orders is preferred.
• UAE/GCC FM experience is an advantage.
