The Automotive Service Advisor is the primary contact between customers and the service department.
The role supports clear communication and smooth delivery of vehicle repair and maintenance services.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, listen to vehicle concerns, and explain recommended repairs, maintenance, and services.
- Coordinate with team leaders and workshop supervisors; communicate job details to technicians and clarify tasks.
- Explain work scope and costs, obtain customer approval, and provide accurate estimates before work proceeds.
- Prepare detailed job cards covering vehicle information, services, parts, labor estimates, and anticipated completion times.
- Keep customers informed about repair status, unexpected findings, and delays.
- Maintain records of interactions, approvals, recommendations, and work performed.
- Check completed repairs against required standards before releasing vehicles.
- Resolve concerns promptly and aim to exceed customer expectations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as an automotive service advisor or in a related customer-service role.
- Knowledge of automotive systems and components, routine maintenance, and common repair issues.
- ASE certification is a plus.
