Role Overview
The Technical Operations Reliability team analyzes aircraft defects and operational disruptions to help United operate safely and dependably.
The Associate Analyst provides accurate information and insights that support data-driven decisions across multiple divisions.
Job Overview and Responsibilities
- Identify ATA codes for technical operations interruptions.
- Identify component, condition, and other details for system failures.
- Identify top system failures and support fleet reliability meetings.
- Complete regulatory reporting and operational support, including dispositioning chronic items.
- Track fleet trends and perform operational drill-downs to highlight potential issues.
- Support reliability and fleet initiatives, ad hoc requests, and reporting needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or related experience.
- Bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering, aircraft maintenance, other engineering, or a related discipline.
- 6 months to 2 years of experience in aviation or related fields.
- Knowledge of aircraft systems.
- Strong accuracy, attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Comfort with ambiguity.
- Familiarity with generative AI concepts and prompt writing.
- Exposure to AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and NotebookLM.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of aircraft fleet health or reliability programs is preferred.
- Familiarity with SQL and data visualization or reporting tools is preferred.
- Basic awareness of generative AI tools and their use in technical data analysis, reporting, documentation, and insight extraction is preferred.
