About the role
Assistant Manager responsible for setting the tone for the store and team and bringing the Gap brand to life for customers.
Drives profitable sales growth across customer and product operations, merchandising, and talent development.
Supports store strategy execution and performance goals in partnership with the General Manager and/or Assistant General Manager.
Store leadership and operations
- Support sales strategies and processes through a customer-centric mindset; own an assigned area of responsibility.
- Recruit, hire, and develop Brand Associate and Expert teams; teach and coach Leads, Experts, and Brand Associates.
- Implement plans to maximize efficiency and productivity; perform Service Leader duties.
- Ensure standard operating procedures and compliance standards are consistently met.
- Represent the brand, understand the competition and retail landscape, and promote community involvement.
- Leverage omni-channel capabilities to deliver a frictionless customer experience.
Who you are
- Current or former retail employee with 1–3 years of retail management experience.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Effective communicator with customers and team; able to lead, inspire, coach, and mentor others.
- Passionate about retail, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and driven by metrics to meet business goals.
- Able to work flexible holiday, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts; able to travel as required.
- Able to use retail technology, move around the sales floor, stockroom, and office, and lift up to 30 pounds.
