Job-specific responsibilities
- Support technical regulations and guidance for wastewater, recycled water, and trade effluent.
- Monitor and report licensee recycled water and trade effluent quality data.
- Review regulatory submissions and follow up with licensees.
- Assess recycled water safety plan submissions against WHO guidelines and audit their implementation.
- Guide and liaise with licensees and stakeholders to promote compliance.
- Support legislative advice and sector-wide regulatory initiatives.
- Review operational incidents and follow up.
- Maintain technical competency through professional development; perform other duties as required.
Job requirements
- Bachelor's degree with an excellent grade in related engineering or environmental science; examples include chemical/process engineering, civil engineering, or environmental science.
- Three to five years of experience in a relevant field.
- A postgraduate degree related to water or the environment is preferred.
- Accreditation by a recognized institution is preferred.
- Understand UAE recycled water standards, global best practice, wastewater and recycled water regulations, and the energy sector.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and effective oral and written communication.
- Be able to develop regulatory frameworks and support strategy, KPI monitoring, and incident investigation.
- Work with government officials, company leadership, external parties, and advisors, providing accurate and timely information.
