Role Overview
The Toolpusher Rig Manager supports rig operations through HSE leadership, safety planning, employee coaching, compliance, investigations, training, audits, and contractor coordination.
The role operates in a field rig environment and liaises with Aramco compliance, HSE, and occupational health teams.
HSE and Safety Operations
- Ensure compliance with Saudi health, safety, and environmental legislation and obligations.
- Verify and audit HSE processes including C.O.A.C.H., Lifebelts, written safe work procedures, and POMS.
- Support non-routine tasks and major repairs through pre-job planning and safety meetings.
- Facilitate onboarding, pre-tour, pre-job, and weekly safety meetings.
- Observe hazardous operations and promote H&P safety programs.
- Support injury case management and liaise with occupational and emergency medical services.
- Maintain occupational and emergency medical service documentation.
- Complete inspections, audits, negative-event, good-catch, and recognition reports.
Planning and Coaching
- Facilitate use of Compass Cards, eJSAs, Flex Checks, and Video JSAs.
- Participate in eJSA change requests and C.O.A.C.H. conversations.
- Mentor and coach new-to-position and short-service employees.
- Track pending Workday training and encourage crew completion.
- Facilitate weekly RSMT meetings at Main Camp.
Compliance and Contractor Management
- Manage Aramco-required third-party training and maintain the training matrix.
- Liaise with Aramco Compliance, Aramco HSE, and Aramco occupational health during audits and inspections.
- Investigate accidents and injuries and support SIF and root-cause investigations.
- Manage third-party contractors for H2S equipment, rig movers, catering, and related services.
- Conduct audits on rig moves and LOTO.
- Manage third-party equipment inspections and emissions testing.
- Submit required monthly reports.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Saudi health, safety, and environmental legislation and obligations.
- Ability to manage HSE audits, inspections, safety planning, and reporting.
- Ability to manage Aramco-required training and contractor compliance activities.
- Ability to investigate accidents and injuries and contribute to root-cause investigations.
- Ability to mentor and coach new-to-position and short-service employees.
