Lead and manage the midwifery and nursing team in patient-centred, evidence-based care, operational efficiency, and positive patient experiences.
The position is with Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital in Abu Dhabi.
Key responsibilities
- Provide leadership and management guidance; develop employees and create an environment that supports team engagement.
- Ensure evidence-based patient care practices follow clinical standards and manage resources cost-effectively for safe care.
- Monitor legislative, regulatory, and clinical compliance and support continuous quality improvement.
- Lead obstetric emergency preparedness and response, keeping the team drilled and ready to manage emergencies.
- Plan and manage capacity, staffing, and patient flow; adapt resourcing and escalate as demand changes.
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery is essential.
- At least 3–5 years of senior midwifery experience is essential; private hospital experience is preferred.
- A master’s degree in Midwifery/Nursing or a related healthcare field is desired.
- 5–10 years of senior midwifery experience, including high-volume Labour and Delivery management, is desired.
Skills and knowledge
- Implement the five stages of the Scientific Nursing Process: assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation.
- Presentation skills, UAE Labour Law, computer literacy, MS Office, cost management, nursing practice competence, and effective meeting management.
- Quality management and governance, risk management, clinical procedures, stock control, and the UAE healthcare regulatory framework.
- Workforce planning and scheduling.
