Role overview

Testing leadership and delivery

• Own resourcing and planning for IT testing activities and take responsibility for testing delivery.
• Advise clients on test techniques, phases, tooling, and risk assessment and management.
• Review client testing practices and create short- and long-term improvement recommendations.
• Manage implementation of recommendations, including best-practice templates and processes.
• Build independent testing governance frameworks; develop strategies and direct teams on complex programmes.
• Facilitate workshops and requirements-gathering sessions and describe project risks.
• Keep deliverables within agreed cost, timescale, and resource budgets, and support sign-off.
• Design test plans and processes; define standards for test scripts and testing assets.
• Specify test environments for the testing lifecycle to reflect business requirements.
• Coordinate test schedules, work, and resource plans and manage progress against delivery deadlines.
• Diagnose complex problems, anticipate risks, and guide corrective or preventative action.
• Contribute to proofs of concept and pre-sales work, and identify opportunities to expand client assignments.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• ISTQB qualification is listed as a qualification.
• Strong theoretical knowledge of QA methodologies and specialist quality-assurance expertise.
• Extensive application, technology, and domain knowledge, with recognized QA management expertise and experience planning resource needs.
• Experience managing change control and providing technical management.
• Experience diagnosing problems with formal problem-solving techniques and developing potential solutions.
• ISTQB Advanced is desirable.
• Complex IT programme experience in insurance, particularly London Markets, is advantageous.
