Testing and commissioning role for a 380kV substation project in Saudi Arabia.
Tests facilities, equipment and plants to verify correct operation, expected results and readiness to meet client needs.
Responsibilities
- Test main, backup and auxiliary relays on BSP projects, operating relay applications and primary and secondary current injection kits.
- Read and verify protection schemes in the field; identify system problems and recommend operational improvements.
- Schedule and coordinate work to deadlines, including coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Advise on testing and commissioning procedures and documentation; produce or assist with commissioning records.
- Deliver testing and commissioning within site time, cost and requirements.
- Monitor progress, record test results, witness final tests and equipment acceptance, and compile the site test dossier.
- Ensure safe commissioning and required plant performance in line with project programme requirements.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 8–15 years of EHV substation testing and commissioning experience.
- At least 5 years of 380kV substation project experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC.
- Competence testing main, backup and auxiliary relays, and ability to execute work independently.
- Ability to operate relay software applications and primary and secondary current injection kits.
- Thorough knowledge of protection scheme reading and field verification.
- Strong troubleshooting, leadership, coordination, client communication and report-writing skills.
- Able to work under pressure during critical energization activities; committed to safety and quality.
