EHS project management
- Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and project-specific safety plans for BESS projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local regulations, client requirements, and international EHS standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, JSA, HIRA, and method statement reviews.
- Oversee safety during BESS installation, battery container handling, electrical work, testing, commissioning, and energization.
- Control electrical hazards, arc flash, LOTO, work at height, lifting operations, and confined spaces.
- Prepare emergency response plans for thermal runaway, fire, smoke, electrolyte leakage, and other battery hazards.
Site coordination and monitoring
- Coordinate EHS matters with project managers, construction and commissioning teams, subcontractors, and clients.
- Conduct site inspections, safety audits, toolbox talks, and EHS training programs.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor subcontractor safety performance and project EHS compliance.
- Maintain EHS documents, inspection reports, incident records, safety statistics, and compliance registers.
- Monitor waste management, environmental protection, spill prevention, and hazardous-material handling.
- Lead EHS meetings, safety campaigns, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure emergency equipment, fire protection, first-aid facilities, and evacuation arrangements are available at site.
- Prepare and submit periodic EHS performance reports to project management and clients.
Requirements
- Develop and apply EHS controls that meet applicable local regulations, client requirements, and international EHS standards.
- Assess risks and review Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA), and method statements.
- Manage safety controls for BESS installation, battery container handling, electrical work, testing, commissioning, and energization.
- Address electrical hazards, arc flash, LOTO, work at height, lifting operations, and confined spaces.
- Plan emergency response to battery thermal runaway, fire, smoke, electrolyte leakage, and related hazards.
- Maintain EHS records, compliance registers, inspection reports, incident records, and safety statistics.
