Testing & Commissioning Engineer (T&C Engineer) for a 380kV substation project in Saudi Arabia.
Testing and commissioning work ensures facilities, equipment, and plants function correctly and meet client needs.
Role and responsibilities
- Test main, backup, and auxiliary relays and execute work independently on BSP projects.
- Operate relay software applications and primary and secondary current injection kits; read and verify protection schemes in the field.
- Improve operational procedures, schedule work to deadlines, and identify system problems or shortcomings.
- Coordinate testing and commissioning with internal and external stakeholders and advise on procedures and documentation.
- Produce testing and commissioning documents and perform site work within time and cost requirements.
- Monitor progress, record test results, witness final testing and equipment acceptance, and compile the site test dossier.
- Ensure safe testing and commissioning of completed installations to meet plant performance and project program requirements.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 8–15 years of experience in testing and commissioning of EHV substations.
- At least five years of experience in 380kV substation projects within Saudi Arabia or the GCC.
- Thorough knowledge of protection schemes and competence with relays, relay software, and primary and secondary current injection kits.

- Strong technical troubleshooting, leadership, coordination, client and consultant communication, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work under pressure during critical energization activities.
