Role and project

Protection testing and coordination

• Test main, backup, and auxiliary relays and independently complete assigned work on BSP projects.
• Operate relay software applications and primary and secondary current injection kits across makes.
• Read and verify protection schemes in the field.
• Recommend operational procedure improvements and identify problems in existing systems.
• Schedule work to tight deadlines and coordinate testing and commissioning with internal and external stakeholders.
• Advise on testing and commissioning procedures and documentation; produce or assist with required documents.

Delivery, records, and safety

• Carry out testing and commissioning within site time and cost requirements.
• Monitor progress, record test results, witness final testing and equipment acceptance, and compile site test dossiers.
• Ensure completed installations are tested and commissioned safely to meet plant performance and project-program requirements.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8–15 years of experience in testing and commissioning of EHV substations.
• At least 5 years of experience on 380 kV substation projects in Saudi Arabia or the GCC.
• Competence testing main, backup, and auxiliary protection relays and independently executing work on BSP projects.
• Ability to operate relay software and primary and secondary current injection kits across makes; thorough knowledge of field protection-scheme reading and verification.
