Ensure banquet staff work as a team and guests' needs and special event arrangements are addressed.
Banquet operations and service
- Set up banquet rooms and areas, keeping furniture and equipment clean and properly arranged.
- Inspect table setups for cleanliness, neatness, group requirements, and company standards; resolve problems.
- Communicate with guests, employees, and departments to address guest needs and special banquet arrangements.
- Document pertinent information in the department logbook.
Team and workplace standards
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching employees.
- Build positive working relationships and support common team goals.
- Follow safety and security policies, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training and certifications.
- Maintain professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and meet quality standards.
Guest service and physical duties
- Welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and communicate clearly and professionally.
- The role involves extended periods standing, sitting, or walking; lifting and moving objects; fine motor tasks; and movement on uneven or slippery surfaces and stairs.
Preferred qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
- At least 1 year of related work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience are preferred.
- No license or certification is specified.
