Monitor the swimming area, protect guest safety, respond to emergencies, and support a welcoming recreation environment.
Safety and emergency response
- Observe swimmers and use appropriate rescue techniques when someone needs assistance.
- Monitor for dangerous conditions, unsafe activities, and swimmers in difficulty; promote facility rules.
- Inform a supervisor when guests may be unable to participate safely and assist injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications.
Guest service and facility duties
- Promote a fun, relaxing atmosphere; welcome guests, address service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities.
- Obtain, fold, and stack towels; wash, mop, and clean the pool deck.
- Inspect tools, equipment, and machines for defects; follow company policies, protect assets and confidential information, and meet quality standards.
Required qualifications
- CPR certification.
- First Aid certification.
- Any certification or training required by local and state agencies.
Preferred and experience qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- No related work experience or supervisory experience is specified as necessary.
Work conditions
- Hotel recreation and pool duties are performed on site.
- Work may require extended standing, sitting, or walking; moving objects; and navigating slippery or uneven surfaces, slopes, stairs, and ramps.
Schedule
- Full-time schedule.
