Structural Design Engineer

Position overview

Design and technical duties

• Perform structural analysis and design using ETABS, SAFE, STAAD, RAM Concept, Revit, and related software.
• Develop and review structural BIM models and detailed drawings using Revit.
• Prepare calculations, design reports, specifications, and technical documentation; review and validate designs and outputs.
• Ensure designs are safe, efficient, practical, and compliant with applicable standards and UAE authority requirements.

Project coordination and quality

• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, clients, contractors, and authorities; participate in design coordination meetings.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, method statements, and other technical submissions.
• Support BIM coordination and clash detection using Revit or Navisworks; conduct internal design reviews and quality checks.
• Support authority submissions and approvals, and maintain accurate project documentation.

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a master’s degree is an advantage.
• 5–10 years of structural engineering experience, with at least five years of UAE experience; UAE experience is mandatory.
• Advanced or expert Revit proficiency for structural modelling and detailing is mandatory.
• Strong structural design experience across residential, commercial, mixed-use, villa, high-rise, or similar projects.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel design, UAE building regulations, authority approvals, and ACI, BS, Eurocodes, or other relevant standards.
• Dubai Municipality registration and Trakhees accreditation or approval are preferred; UAE authority submission experience is an advantage.
• Dubai/UAE consultancy experience, relevant authority project experience, and exposure to listed project types are preferred.
• LEED or Estidama knowledge is an advantage; the role also calls for analytical ability, communication, coordination, attention to detail, and deadline management.

• Work location is in person in Dubai.
