Resident Engineer role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Oversee day-to-day site operations and construction compliance, coordinating contractor, consultant, and client to support timely, quality project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Oversee on-site construction activities and monitor scheduled project milestones.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and regulations.
- Coordinate inspectors, contractors, and stakeholders on construction quality and safety.
- Monitor contractor performance and resolve technical and site issues.
- Review method statements, material submittals, and shop drawings.
- Conduct site inspections, prepare progress reports, and maintain project records.
- Liaise with client representatives and attend project meetings.
- Identify and mitigate project execution risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- 10–15 years of construction experience, including at least 6–7 years in a similar UAE role.
- Prior experience with infrastructure, residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
- Strong knowledge of local construction regulations and standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills; able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant engineering software.
Preferred qualifications
- Membership in a recognized professional engineering body, such as UAE Society of Engineers, PMI, or ICE, is preferred.
- UAE government or semi-government project experience is an advantage.
- A valid UAE driving licence is preferred.
