Position summary
- Receive and stage merchandise by department, mark it for placement, and deliver it to the appropriate department; stack goods on pallets or carts.
- Complete inventory and supply requisitions and notify a manager or supervisor of low stock.
- Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock.
- Inspect deliveries for freshness, cleanliness, consistency, and quality; refuse damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items.
- Follow food-safety and handling procedures. Clean and sanitize refrigerators, freezers, floors, food equipment, and drains.
- Remove empty pallets, cardboard, and trash and put them in designated storage areas.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; complete safety training and certifications.
- Follow company policies, maintain a clean and professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, communicate professionally, and support team and quality goals.
- Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.
Physical and preferred qualifications
- Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and move through narrow, confined, elevated, uneven, or slippery spaces, including stairs and service ramps.
- Able to read and visually verify information in various formats, including small print.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred; no related work experience or supervisory experience is listed as preferred-qualification information.
- No license or certification is listed.
