The role provides massage and body treatments and supports guest comfort, safety, and service.
Treatment and guest care
- Provide massage using appropriate accessories and products, and deliver scrubs, wraps, and hydrotherapy treatments.
- Assess guest needs and contraindications, including allergies, high blood pressure, and pregnancy, before treatment.
- Escort guests to and from treatment rooms, prepare rooms and workstations, and check on comfort and safety.
- Promote spa and salon services and related retail offerings.
Operations and conduct
- Clean and sterilize tools, maintain treatment-room cleanliness, dispose of waste and used linens, and secure supplies at shift end.
- Follow the schedule and procedures for inappropriate guest conduct; stop service and notify a supervisor or manager when necessary.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; follow safety training and company policies.
- Welcome guests, communicate courteously, protect confidential information and company property, and maintain professional appearance.
- Maintain positive working relationships and perform other appropriate assigned duties.
Qualifications
- A state or regional massage license or certification is required.
- At least one year of related experience is recommended.
- A technical, trade, or vocational school diploma is recommended.
- Maintain current skills and service-area permits as required regionally; complete safety training and obtain required certifications.
