Job Summary

Roles & Responsibilities

• Maintains district inventory for plant supplies, including ordering, receiving, and allocating.
• Prepares and types annual requisitions, orders, reports, and correspondence.
• Receives and inspects all incoming materials and reconciles with purchase orders; processes and distributes documentation with purchase orders; reports, documents, and tracks damages and discrepancies on orders received.
• Posts daily incoming and outgoing plant stock.
• Reports canceled and damaged items to the purchase department as appropriate.
• Handles and documents storage and transportation of hazardous materials.
• Identifies, segregates, and preserves materials stored.
• Maintains the warehouse, records area, and stores area in a neat and orderly manner.
• Segregates waste for proper disposal.
• Informs relevant personnel about the arrival of material and arranges for inspection.
• Answers questions regarding procedures and resolves discrepancies regarding receipts, deliveries, warranties, repairs, and surplus property.
• Arranges to return non-conforming materials and issues material as per requirements while maintaining records.

Job Specifications

• Desired: Diploma in a related field.
• Minimum experience: at least 3 years in the same functions; 6 years preferable.
• Required: awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environment Management system principles.
• Required: knowledge of environmental and health impact of chemicals stored in the warehouse.
• Required: knowledge of identification, handling, storing, and disposal of wastes and expired chemicals.
• Required: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Required: ability to pass a typing test at 35 words per minute.
• Required: ability to operate a personal computer and related software.
• Required: good communication skills in English.
• Required: hazard risk assessment and aspect impact assessment.

Desired Certification / Job Specific Skill / Training

• ISO9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001 awareness or working knowledge is preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
