Job Summary

Roles & Responsibilities

• Ensure duties are performed in a safe, efficient and effective manner and comply with NOMAC safety rules and regulations.
• Perform all maintenance activities in the plant in a timely and safe manner with strict adherence to maintenance procedures and work instructions.
• Document maintenance concerns/history for the equipment.
• Report to Electrical Supervisor/Engineer for spare parts and consumables and update spares availability.
• Ensure proper isolations are carried out before starting maintenance activity in coordination with Electrical Supervisor and local operator.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems and perform maintenance on equipment under jurisdiction.
• Install, adjust, inspect, service and repair a variety of static and rotating electrical equipment used in power and desalination plants.
• Carry out all necessary preparation required for electrical maintenance to assigned equipment/area.
• Understand working knowledge of equipment operation and associated operating systems.
• Perform 5S housekeeping in area of work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering OR worked as Skilled Electrical Labor in NOMAC plants for a minimum of 4 years.
• Bachelor of Engineering is preferred.
• 4 years in the same position OR worked as Skilled Electrical Labor in NOMAC plants for a minimum of 4 years.
• Extensive experience as Electrical Technician in conventional, combined cycle, cogeneration, water desalination (RO, MSF, MED), or renewable energy plants is preferable.

Required Skills

• Generic awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management system principles.
• Able to work independently and in a team environment completing objectives efficiently with a sense of responsibility.
• Able and willing to work in non-ideal environments such as confined spaces, working at heights, and around chemicals.
• Understand, practice and enforce safe work practices including respiratory protection, elevated work platforms, fall protection, LOTO, fire protection systems, electrical safety, confined space entry, and PPE.
• Knowledge of identification, classification and disposal of waste.
• Knowledge of environmental and health impact of chemicals used in the plant.
• Knowledge of firefighting equipment and first aid measures.
• Basic knowledge of power/water plant operational activities.
• Basic computer skills.

Desired Certification

• ISO9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001 awareness/working knowledge is preferred.

• Ready to work in remote location.
