Mechanical Technician
Role Overview
Primary responsibility is to safely accomplish the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of heavy rotating machinery used mainly in power generation applications.
Work closely with Supervisors, HSE personnel, and the Operations Department to achieve these goals.

Job Purpose
Primary responsibility is to safely accomplish the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of heavy rotating machinery used mainly in power generation applications.
Work closely with Supervisors, HSE personnel, and the Operations Department to achieve these goals.

Key Accountabilities
- Read schematic drawings and technical documentation to determine proper work procedures.
- Dismantle and assemble machinery and equipment using hand, power, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools.
- Move machinery, parts, and equipment using hoists, cranes, chain falls, and trucks.
- Align machinery and equipment using hoists, squares, micrometers, dial indicators, or laser alignment equipment specialist recommendations.
- Perform machine and component inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, rules, and calipers.
- Responsible for control of tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Diploma in a technical field; Gas Turbine Systems Technician preferred.
- Minimum of two years' experience maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial service equipment including pumps, motors, fans, generators, and turbines.
- Must possess minimum experience for utilization of tooling.
- Good understanding of latest technology and innovation.
- Knowledge of applicable legal, quality, and HSSE requirements.
- Good knowledge of power plant operations, maintenance, equipment, practices, and procedures.
- Willing to travel.
- Willing to work on international sites, in hardship locations, and shift work.
