The role leads stewarding operations that support kitchen, restaurant, and event cleanliness, organization, and hygiene.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the stewarding team.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene across back-of-house areas.
- Monitor cleaning and storage of kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, and glassware.
- Ensure equipment is available and ready for banquet and restaurant operations.
- Train, coach, and motivate team members.
- Conduct regular inspections and ensure compliance with HACCP and safety standards.
- Manage stewarding supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
- Coordinate with Culinary and Food and Beverage teams to support seamless service.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of stewarding experience, including 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Hotel-environment experience is preferred.
- Good knowledge of HACCP, hygiene, sanitation, and health and safety standards.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills; good organizational and communication abilities.
- Experience managing stewarding equipment, chemicals, and cleaning procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain high standards.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays; positive, hands-on leadership approach.
