The Assistant Events Manager will plan and execute events at voco Doha Central, a pre-opening hotel.
The role works with clients and internal teams to deliver organized events and guest service.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Lead conferences, meetings, weddings, social events, and corporate functions from enquiry through execution.
- Build client relationships and prepare proposals, contracts, banquet event orders, and event documentation.
- Coordinate with Food & Beverage, Culinary, Rooms, Engineering, and other operational teams.
- Conduct site inspections and client meetings to showcase hotel facilities and event capabilities.
- Generate revenue through upselling; monitor event details, timelines, and budgets.
- Ensure events meet brand standards and client expectations, and resolve guest feedback or issues.
- Support pre-opening sales initiatives, promotional activities, and event showcases.
What the role requires
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Events Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience in Events, Catering Sales, Conference Services, or a similar hospitality role.
- Strong organization, project management, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple events and priorities in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and service excellence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management systems; proactive, creative, and guest-focused approach.
