Role overview

Steel fixing and crew supervision

• Lead daily reinforcement activities for foundations, slabs, beams, columns, walls, and structural concrete works.
• Ensure accurate reinforcement placement, spacing, alignment, tying, support, and readiness for inspection before concrete pouring.
• Monitor cutting, bending, fabrication, and assembly of reinforcement cages and mats; verify bar bending schedules and layouts.
• Direct crews, allocate work, monitor productivity and workmanship, conduct toolbox talks, and mentor workers.
• Maintain discipline, attendance records, and manpower deployment.

Safety, quality, and coordination

• Enforce HSE rules, permit-to-work requirements, and PPE compliance; support risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis activities.
• Inspect reinforcement before concrete placement and confirm compliance with drawings, specifications, and QA/QC requirements.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses promptly and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, QA/QC inspectors, concreting teams, stores, and logistics teams.

Materials and reporting

• Ensure timely availability and efficient handling of reinforcement steel, tying wire, spacers, chairs, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain equipment safely and promote efficient use of materials and resources.
• Report daily progress, manpower status, site issues, and material consumption; monitor progress against schedules and targets.
• Maintain work and manpower records, support inspection documentation, and assist with as-built records when required.

Experience and education

• 8–10 years of steel fixing and reinforcement experience, including supervisory or foreman-level experience.
• Experience on building, industrial, infrastructure, or oil and gas EPC construction projects.
• Experience leading multinational crews in fast-paced construction environments.
• Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline.

Skills and competencies

• Strong knowledge of reinforcement steel installation, bar bending schedules, and structural concrete works.
• Ability to interpret structural drawings, reinforcement details, and project specifications.
• Leadership, workforce management, planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of HSE requirements and safe work practices; quality focus and attention to detail.
• Good communication and reporting abilities; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Relevant HSE certifications or safety training are an advantage.
